Greetings and Salutations

Hello! I am so pleased you have joined me here at I am a licensed naturopathic doctor and I graduated from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. I am also a licensed massage therapist and I am working on becoming a registered herbalist as well. For those of you who may not know what a naturopath is I suggest reading this article from the Huffington Post by one of my colleagues.

In a nutshell, Naturopathic medicine is focused on bringing each person to wellness and helping them maintain that wellness throughout their lives. We use a hierarchy approach where we start with the least invasive intervention and go from there. Sometimes we use pharmaceuticals and suggest surgeries but often we help our patients through diet, lifestyle modifications, herbs, physical medicine, hydrotherapy and supplementation.

I will be writing about real, applicable ways for you and your family to live a healthier, more natural life.

We are constantly bombarded by media and those around us with the idea that things like chemical cleaners and chemical ‘foods’ are necessary to our existence. I respectfully disagree and will be bringing you some great alternatives to the current chemical-filled/high stress lifestyle being advertised to us.

One of my major passions is working with children. I have been focusing much of my medical career on pediatric health including working with the children with different Austim Spectrum Disorders. While you may have heard that “there is no known cause of Autism” or the other disorders on this spectrum there are many things that these children have in common including systemic inflammation, gut dysbiosis, food aversions and intolerances. I look forward to expanding on these subjects in future posts.

While I do not give specific medical advice on the internet I would be happy to hear your questions regarding health and natural living and I will do my best to give you the naturopathic view of your particular inquiry.
